Fausto was a tropical storm in the North Pacific Ocean early Monday Hawaii time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Fausto is the sixth named storm to form in the Eastern Pacific in 2026.
Hurricane Fausto maintained its Category 1 strength as the tropical cyclone churns in the East Pacific, about 2,000 miles east of Hilo. At 11 p.m. Thursday, Fausto had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph and was moving west-northwest at 12 mph.
